[Hong Kong] HSBC: 150 Years in HK is once again recognized for its innovative banknote marketing strategy and won the Certificate of Merit in the category ‘Advertising & Marketing’ at the Asia Smartphone Apps Contest 2016.
To mark its 150th Anniversary and show its commitment and support on the growth and development to Hong Kong, HSBC has released a 150th Anniversary Banknote, along with this augmented reality app that brings it to life. The unique AR engine visualises the development of Hong Kong in the past 150 years on the banknote. Users can reveal the secrets by scanning the signature scenery with the in-app camera. Other interactive and 3D elements including explanation of banknote details upon selection and a 3D simulating model for 360 degree viewing are also available in the app to provide a more interesting and informative user experience for brand engagement.
